Parents are encouraged to become involved in the School’s governance by attending the meetings of the various supervisory bodies that oversee and guide the efforts of the school's managers. The times, places and agendas of such meetings are always sent out to parents in advance of their occurrence. SCHOOL BOARD The School Board that consists of at least four parents who work on a voluntary basis for three-year terms. The responsibilities of the Board include: establishing general policies, staff matters, long-term planning, ultimate responsibility for financial matters, public relations, maintenance of the School and its grounds. MONTESSORI ZUID-HOLLAND The Boards of Montessori schools of the area around Leiden have merged into one big body: MZH (Montessori Zuid – Holland). This will help in running the schools in a more professional way. MEDEZEGGENSCHAPSRAAD The "MR" (Medezeggenschapsraad = Participation Council) is a council of teachers and parents. The Foundation is obliged by law to institute an "MR" before it is entitled to receive public funds. Parents and teachers elect their own representatives to the "MR". The International Section delegates two parents and two teachers to this Council. The tasks of the "MR" are: participation in final decision making regarding school policies proposed by the School Board, to support the Board by acting as an intermediary between the parents and the School Board.
